Each rider raised a minimum of $2500 for the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's Jeffrey Goodman's Special Care Clinic, or the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. When I first signed up for the ride, I thought this was going to be the biggest challenge. Being in college, I don't have many workingpeople connections or friends with a lotta bank rolling in. But finding money did not end up being the hardest part. My college friends donated as much money as the working adults I asked! I was truly- when I use "truly" I feel like Miss America being fake- but anyways, I was seriously truly amazed, touched, grateful, happy, all the good adjectives. The hardest part was not the fund raising or getting up at the crack of dawn for training rides, it was actually having dialogue about HIV/AIDS and the community it affects.
-more to come later....
